Whitchester is a unique combination of 3-star guest house and Christian retreat centre. This former Dower House of the Buccleuch Estate was re-furbished in 2003 to provide a balance between modern convenience and a 19th century country house.

Although we are not affiliated to any denomination, we have long-standing links with the local churches in Hawick and the surrounding areas. As a Guest House our doors are open to all - those of any faith or none.

Annexe Update

When the foundations for the annexe were laid in summer 2007, we had little idea of what lay ahead. There have been many ups and downs, frustrations and delays, anticipation and excitement. Now at last, the building is nearing completion and the end is in sight. We praise God for His provision in many ways and rejoice that we will soon have new additional facilities to offer our guests; in particular, two new ground floor rooms with disabled access.

It is hoped that the annexe will be ready in time for this year's Friends' Day on Saturday 23 August.
